Lots of things make me happy and optimistic. Here are some things that I’m thinking about right now.
- Little kids look adorable in Halloween costumes and today I get to pass out candy from my cubicle.
- When I get married my wife and I are going to work out together in exercise clothes basically every day.
- I paid off a big chunk of the highest interest student loan that I have and next month that one’ll be gone completely.
- I half-filled a glass jar with M&Ms from fun size packets and it looks really good on my desk. I think I’ll get another jar this weekend and fill it with a delicious candy. Probably Skittles Blenders.
- Google+ is going to let me use my lutes.me email address with my current account in a couple of weeks.
- Today is sixty days since September first.
- I already mailed a letter this week and I have a pretty sweet card almost ready to mail.
- I have a bug to find in my online Scrabble game.
So why are you happy that it is 60 days past September 1st? So glad you are happy =)
So many of these things make me happy as well! Delicious candy, loans paid, maybe a special card???
Today I got food stamps! and cobbled together some of my grandpa’s old clothes into a passable Doctor costume. Or a The Doctor costume? Who knows how indefinite articles work with that guy.
Oh! And the most ghetto-ass laptop cooling stand imaginable. Corrugated cardboard(cut with a saw because the box cutter was jammed shut), liquid nails, duct tape, and spraypaint.
Those are all awesome things to be happy and optimistic about, Raymond! Is there some way that I can see the resulting costume and perhaps the homemade cooling stand?
I haven’t seen my beast roommate in three days!!! Best Halloween present ever.

It’s basically a stack of hollow rectangles so the bottom doesn’t touch a surface, and the middle layer has gaps between the middle hole and the outside to breathe and a gap in the top and middle layers for the fan vents. The duct tape, in a stunning reversal of convention, is there to make it look better by covering up the jaggy corrugation.
And that yellow strip next to the touchpad is a folded strip of paper taped just to the side to make feeling for the scroll bar easier.
That is pretty cool. Do you use it with a table or do you have it resting on your lap making your lap super warm?
